The Power of S deals with the politicisation of the ANUS and its demystification. This is anal choreography done from behind, out of its operational mode of shame and blame, transforming its history as a privatised space into a sphere full of political potential. 

The anus, historically neglected because it doesn’t play a protagonist role in our reproduction system, is taking now the front row, celebrating its polymorphic pleasure. 

Throughout 60 minutes, three choreographed bodies “revive” the anus through its “breathing”, illustrated by the loosening and the tightening of the sphincters, discovering the uncanny potentials of this “shameful”, “inappropriate” and perpetually covered part of our body. Through this visual impression, the concept of anal politics, as a social and not a private issue, is explored. The Power of S celebrates gaining control and power over one’s own body and the environment, through complete deconstruction of the phallocentric-upright through which identity is uniformly defined in the heteronormative environment.
